2012 Rotating Art Show Schedule

Eighth Annual Juried Photography Show:

Photos on any topic will be accepted. The photos will be judged on quality of print, composition and, originality.

January 23

rd -> March 5th Delivery on the 21st

 of January

Students Show (Elementary, Junior and Senior High):

Includes ANY 2D art, photos and small needle arts that can be hung in library (quilts, fiber art etc.)

March 19st -> April 30th Delivery on the 16th of March         

People in Action Art Show:
Non-juried show: Let your imagination run wild, have fun, do something “out of your comfort zone.” Show folks at work, play or even sleeping
May 14th -> June 25th Delivery on the 12th of May

In and Around PA:  Where have you been in PA? Pieces should depict scenes in the state of Pennsylvania. All media accepted.
July 9th -> August 27th Delivery on the 7th of July   

Ninth Annual Juried Art Show:
Use your imagination to create an interesting work. ANY media 2D art i.e. watercolor, oils, pastels, mixed media, acrylics, drawings (ink, pencil, conté, charcoal), egg tempera etc. No Photography will be accepted.
September 10th -> October 15th Delivery on the 8th of September

Warm Places, Things:
The piece must depict a scene, or an object, which will warm up our cold winter. Be creative. It may be in any medium. It may be abstract, realistic, a photograph, a quilt or any fiber art.
October 29th -> December 17th Delivery on the 27th of October

Ninth Annual Juried Photography Show: Photos on any topic will be accepted. The photos will be judged on quality of print, composition and, originality.
January 7th -> March 18th Delivery on the 5th of January



Information on submitting art

The artwork for non-juried shows will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. If your work is not accepted for the non-juried shows do not despair the rotating shows will be on going throughout the year.

 

For the 2D shows, including photography show, all pieces must be securely wired and braced for hanging. No clips or “fast frames” will be accepted. The pieces must be able to be hung using the library’s hanging system. No wet, fragile or ill-prepared work will be accepted. Unframed canvases cannot have staples showing. The exhibition committee reserves the right to reject any work not following these standards.

 

The works must be delivered during the time allocated for their collection. Works delivered before or after the allotted time will not be accepted.

 

Works must not exceed 34 inches in length, or 24 inches in width, including the frame, except as noted for the Fiber Art show.

 

The library requests 15% commission on all sales.
