tail-waggingHave you ever read to a dog? If not, here is your chance! We’ll have two kind and gentle therapy dogs and their owners here at SLPL for you to read to! Open house style; come and go as you please! Bring your own books or read from ours. Parent or caregiver must stay.

Ages 2 - 12. No registration required. Free book for every child who attends!

Watch the interactive Appisode "Let's All Umiball" where Bean and Dizzy team up to challenge their rivals in finding different ways to add up to 10. Don’t miss this fun, vibrant world of adventure that helps early elementary age children learn and develop their math skills!

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or TreatFriday, October 21 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM (RAIN OR SHINE)

Sponsored by Girls Scouts of Southern Lehigh and SLPL

  • Kids have fun getting treats AND donating to worthy causes!
  • Wear your Halloween costumes if you’d like.
  • Along with “trunk or treating” enjoy a “wee-bit scary” stories, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, s’mores, treat bag decorating & more!
  • Bring chairs & blankets
  • Suggested ages 3 years and up
  • Download a mini flyer with list of causes and suggested donations!

Play to Learn: Parent/Child Workshop


10:00 AM - 11:15 AM

Parents and children interact together with age appropriate educational toys in a relaxed, safe environment with the opportunity to speak individually with early childhood specialists on a variety of child development topics.


Ages: 12 months – 3 1/2 years (additional siblings up to age 5 may attend as needed)

Location: Southern Lehigh Public Library “A Family Place Library

Kids Chess Club

chess clubthursday evenings from 7 - 8 pm

Sept. 8 & 22, Oct 2 & 20, Nov 17, Dec 1 & 15 

Ages 8 - 14 (8-10 year-olds need to be accompanied by a parent)

  • Bring a chess board if you have one (not required)
  • No experience required.
