Explore our educational "Play to Learn" activity centers. PLAY is the way kids learn!

Space is limited. You must register to attend.

Instrumental Petting Zoo

Instrumental Petting Zoomonday, may 8 from 1 - 2 pm

The Allentown Symphony Orchestra will bring various instruments to SLPL for children to explore!

Touch them, try them out, learn about them!

Parents / Caregivers must attend with children.

Cost: $2.00 / child. Adults: FREE


Kids Chess Club

chess clubthursday evenings from 7 - 8 pm

February 9 & 23, March 9 & 23, May 4

Ages 8 - 14 (8-10 year-olds need to be accompanied by a parent)

  • Bring a chess board if you have one (not required)
  • No experience required.

Where Math Meets Mischief!

Not your typical math club. Be ready to have some fun! For 3rd - 5th graders only.

Look for Season 2 of Crazy 8's Math Club this fall; September 21 – Nov 9, 2017 
Registration starts August 14. Limited enrollment. Registration Required.

Play to Learn: Parent/Child Workshop


6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Parents and children interact together with age appropriate educational toys in a relaxed, safe environment with the opportunity to speak individually with early childhood specialists on a variety of child development topics.


Ages: 12 months – 3 1/2 years (additional siblings up to age 5 may attend as needed)

Location: Southern Lehigh Public Library “A Family Place Library
