	<title>2008 Art Show Schedule</title>
	<description>FEATURED ARTIST MAY 5-JUNE 16
Local artist to be announced
&lt;/p&gt;
LOCAL LANDSCAPE JUNE 30-SEPT. 8
The subject matter must be a landscape of a scene in Pennsylvania. It may be in any medium, abstract or realistic, 3D, photography, a quilt or fiber art. Submit work Sat., 6/28/08, 12-4PM
&lt;/p&gt;
5TH ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOW SEPT. 22-NOV. 3
Use your imagination to create an interesting work. ANY media 2D art i.e. watercolor, oils, pastels, mixed media, acrylics, drawings (ink, pencil, conté, charcoal), egg tempera etc. except photography will be accepted. Submit work Sat., 9/20/08, 12-4PM
&lt;/p&gt;
FLORAL/STILL-LIFE NOV. 10-JAN. 5
Your piece must contain at least one flower. Be creative. It may be in any medium; it may be abstract, realistic, 3D, a photograph, a quilt or any fiber art. Submit work Sat., 11/08/08, 12-4PM
&lt;/p&gt;
Pieces for non-juried shows will be accepted on a first come-first served basis.
If your work is not accepted for the non-juried shows, do not give up - rotating
shows are ongoing throughout the year.
&lt;/p&gt;
Guidelines: For the 2D shows, including the photography show, all pieces
must be securely wired and braced for hanging. No clips or &amp;ldquo;fast frames” will
be accepted. No wet, fragile or ill-prepared work will be accepted. Unframed
canvases cannot have staples showing. The exhibition committee reserves
the right to reject any work not following these standards. Works must not
exceed 34 inches in height or 24 inches in width, including the frame. The
library requests 10% commission on all sales.

Flyers listing details for each individual show will be available at the library approximately 4 weeks in advance.</description>

	<title>Birthday Book Program</title>
	<description>Birthday Books may be purchased to honor the birthday of a special child in your life. Each gift of $15 or more given to our library in the name of a special birthday child will merit a new book for the library's collection, which will have the name of the giver and the birthday child inscribed on a festive bookplate. The birthday child will also be invited to be the first one to check out the new book. This year, give the gift that will be a birthday remembrance to be enjoyed by children for years to come!</description>

	<title>Open Studio Art Classes</title>
	<description>Adults and high school students may take drawing or painting classes from local award-winning artist, Rose Mavis. You choose the medium - watercolors, acrylics, oils, or pencil. First-time students (only) may arrange to borrow a beginner supply kit to use during the first 6-week class. Continuing students must obtain their own supplies; materials list given at time of registration. Register in person; a portion of the fees benefit the library.

	<title>Lehigh County Senior Center Computer Classes</title>
	<description>The classes listed below are held at the library and require a basic working knowledge of the computer, mouse, and keyboard. Class fee is $38 for Lehigh County Senior Center members 55 years and up, or $76 for non-members and individuals age 45-54 years. LCSC annual membership fee is $15. Forms available at the library. &lt;/p&gt;
