Strategic Planning for the Library’s Future: Your Input is Vital!

The Southern Lehigh Public Library is beginning a unique strategic planning process and needs your help to ensure the library exceeds expectations in serving the community for many years to come! This unique process, known as Program-Centered Planning, includes an intensive effort to hear honest feedback and brilliant ideas from all of the library’s key stakeholders, i.e. donors, municipal and school district funders, library employees, members of the library’s Board of Directors, and especially you – our patrons and community residents.

We invite all community residents to attend a “discovery” session in-person in the library’s meeting rooms OR virtually via Zoom, on Wednesday, April 6, 6:30-8:30PM or Saturday, May 21, 9:30-11:30AM, where we will discuss the library’s current situation and its future. During the session, specially-trained facilitators will ask community residents to review several key areas, which include:

Developing a comprehensive vision for the library.
Current essential relationships/partnerships.
Great things about the library or things that the library does currently.
Services or other things that currently are not working well (or not working at all).
Worries and concerns for the library’s future.
Hopes and dreams for the library’s future.
Supports needed to accomplish goals.
