AARP Tax Assistance

taxesTrained AARP volunteers will provide FREE tax assistance and preparation service to residents with low and moderate incomes.

2010 Rotating Art Show Schedule

Students Show (Elementary, Junior and Senior High):
Includes ANY 2D art, photos and small needle arts that can be hung in library (quilts, fiber art etc.)

SLPL Book Discussion Group 

Held the 3rd Wednesday of each month September - June at 7:30PM. Open to adults. No registration required. Participants may borrow copies of selected titles at the library or secure their own copy.

Open Studio Art Class

Adults & high school students may take drawing or painting classes from local award-winning artist, Rose Mavis. You choose the medium; watercolors, acrylics, oils, pen & ink, or pencil. First-time students (only) may arrange to borrow a beginner supply kit to use during the first 6-week class. Continuing students must obtain their own supplies; materials list given at registration. Register in person at least one week in advance. A portion of the class fees benefits the library. All skill levels are welcome.

“Flower Garden Design” - Join Master Gardener Carol Lidie as she shares tips for designing and re-designing your flower garden to make the most efficient use of space while being creative with the use of color, texture, and shape throughout the seasons.

“Grow More in Less Space: Intensive Vegetable Gardening” - Master Gardener Cathy Leiber will show you how to vegetable garden in a limited space and address issues such as soil composition, soil testing,
composting, companion vegetables, and vegetable rotation. She specializes in growing tomatoes and will share her secrets.
